NH Collection Taormina

I have never written a review before in my life but have traveled all over the world and have never encountered a more horrific hotel experience. It was a nightmare from the second we checked in. We paid for a sea view and had the room directly above the pool (see photo). When asked to be moved to a more acceptable room as we paid for the view, the customer relations person, who is even more of a nightmare lied to my face that there was “nothing else available”. About 5 minutes later when eating at the restaurant I saw her checking in not one but TWO different rooms to the rooms I had asked kindly to be switched to. The horrible customer service continued the following day when a room was found in the middle of the day and we were told we had to rush back immediately to take the room or it would be given away. Obviously not possible in the middle of touring! Every single thing that was supposed to be confirmed or organized by the guest relations at this hotel was either incorrect or guest relations was “misinformed”. The worst part of the entire experience was the terrible attitude of guest relations. Extremely rude, condescending and disrespectful. This woman who could not have been more than 25 is extremely unqualified for this position, especially at a supposedly 5 star hotel. The cleaning staff went two days without cleaning our room. It was filthy. I would consider this hotel a 3 star hotel at best. Such a disappointment. Do not stay at this hotel if you want to enjoy your vacation.
